Zhan Boyun, chief operating officer of Robuff, sorted out several factors, including serious labor shortages, complex processing structures, high reverse engineering costs, and large dimensional errors that easily lead to over-cutting. In order to accelerate automation technology, Robuff has developed a force controller BUFF, which can use an automatically adjusted and highly sensitive robot arm to improve the stability and productivity of the polishing and grinding process, allowing the craftsmanship of old masters to be reproduced in the face of a shortage of manpower.
What components does the BUFF power controller have? Zhan Boyun explained that BUFF is an independent force control device that can be installed between the robot arm and the processed object. And because the unit is controlled through PLC as the connection method, it can be matched with the communication protocols of various brands of robotic arms on the market, including I/O, EtherNet I/P, PROFE NET, serial communication, TCP IP, etc. On the other hand, BUFF uses force control feedback technology. During the grinding and polishing process, it is equivalent to becoming the seventh axis of the robot arm, achieving force control with multiple degrees of freedom. With built-in force sense computing technology, it can achieve precise control and sensory feedback, allowing the interface between the grinder and the workpiece to maintain a constant force for a long time, and even achieve smart adjustment, automatic compensation, and full-angle compensation.
In the past, grinding and polishing paid great attention to personal skills, but various factors such as fatigue and fatigue of manpower will affect the quality of polishing. Robuff's force controller can currently achieve a force capacity of 200N and a displacement of 35mm, so that the grinding work of each horizontal movement can always achieve consistent performance. Moreover, the BUFF product weighs only 3.8kg, which is very convenient for factory introduction.
Zhan Boyun shared that he is currently actively collecting operating parameters and establishing a database, and continues to optimize the grinding process through AI calculations to ensure that customers can set optimal parameters under different production line conditions in the future. Robuff hopes to become the leader of the intelligent grinding industry in the future, extending the grinding application of different workpiece properties to all ends of the supply chain of the grinding industry.
