On February 15, 2025, the Taiwan Inspiration Association (TIA) held two speech events focusing on Taiwan's economy, trade and domestic security amid changes in the international situation. Robuff CEO Peng-Chih Chen attended both events and took photos with former Minister of Economic Affairs and current independent director of Taishin Financial Holdings, Minister Wang Meihua, legislator Lin Chuyin, and TIA founder Huang Wenju.
In the first "Democracy Lecture" event, Minister Wang Meihua delivered a speech on the theme of "Global Economic Situation and Taiwan's Development." She pointed out that after U.S. President Trump was re-elected, he restarted the tariff war, which has had a significant impact on the global trade ecosystem. Minister Wang emphasized that Taiwan has solid high-tech capabilities, especially in advanced manufacturing processes, with a leading global market share. However, in the face of pressure from the United States that may increase tariffs, Taiwan needs to respond prudently and formulate strategies to diversify risks.
In the second event, legislators Lin Chu-yin and Chen Pei-yu jointly attended and discussed the opposition party legislators' actions of cutting the defense, foreign affairs and cultural budgets, and called on the public to actively defend Taiwan's democratic values by removing unfit legislators and other actions.
