The National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology held an unmanned ship sea demonstration event at the Cijin campus on December 19, 2024, attracting the participation of many important figures from industry and academia. Robuff CEO Peng-Chih Chen (Peng-Chih Chen) was invited to attend and witnessed Taiwan's breakthrough development in unmanned ship technology with the guests present.
The event was hosted by Professor Guo Junxian, Vice President of Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and Professor Luo Guangmin, the host of the unmanned ship project, introduced the progress of the project in detail. In addition, Chen Jianhong, President of the National Oceanic Research Institute, and Han Yulin, General Manager of CITIC Shipbuilding, also attended the event to share the latest trends in the industry in the application of smart navigation and unmanned ship technology.
The unmanned ship displayed this time was independently developed by a team from Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. It integrates many cutting-edge technologies such as AI navigation, underwater wireless charging and smart sensing, demonstrating its huge potential in marine science and national defense applications. Robuff CEO Chen said that this event deepened the technical cooperation between the company and academic institutions, and further strengthened Robuff's layout in the fields of unmanned ships and national defense technology.
During the demonstration, the unmanned ship conducted an actual sea test to demonstrate its autonomous navigation and real-time data analysis capabilities. The geographical environment of the Cijin Campus of HiTech University by the sea provided an ideal experimental site for this test. The whole event attracted great attention from the guests and the media.
Robuff will continue to cooperate in depth with the University of Science and Technology and other academic institutions in the future to jointly promote the advancement of Taiwan's smart navigation and unmanned vehicle technology, and contribute to national defense applications and industrial upgrading.
